What's Changed & What's
the Same?
Most of the names and places on this map have remained
the same since the 60's, but some things have indeed changed. For
example, Fort Ste. Marie is now called Ste. Marie Among the Hurons
and the Wildlife Centre on the Wye River is now called the Wye Marsh
Wildlife Centre - a Delawana partner, bringing exciting Eco programs
for the kids. Also changed is the British Officers Quarter's Museum.
This is now the popular Discovery Harbour site and one of the finest
marine recreations depicting the War of 1812 and the war between
Britain and the United States taking place on the Great Lakes.
Improved Hiking Trails on Royal
Island
The make over of the 17 acre Royal Island immediately
across from the Delawana now offers several private beach areas,
an expanded hiking trail system and will be the site for our expanded
Eco-Adventure programs for adults and kids next year!
