Dear Manager,
My family and I have returned from a glorious 5 night stay at The
Delawana Inn. There are plenty of things to do right now to get
myself ready for work on Monday, but as my two year old Alice takes
her afternoon nap, and my eight year old Frances is on her way with
grand-parents for an additional one week vacation stay in Ottawa,
I’m taking this opportunity to write and share with you how
thankful I am that there is a place called the Delawana Inn.
It’s by coincidence I chose your resort as my parents wanted
to treat my children and I with a nice vacation, but I had never
rented a cottage before. My Dad asked me to do some research, maybe
find a place between Milton and Ottawa as he could avoid a long
drive to Milton, Ontario. I was thinking Kingston, the Kawarthas,
or some place else, maybe a Provincial Park. As a listener to Mix
99.9, The Delawana Inn is mentioned quite often, so I checked your
web site. We were intrigued, especially when my Dad mentioned from
his visit to your web site, you have special accommodations for
single parents with children. We booked the next day.
My children were well taken care of every single day. Not once
was I in any fear that they wouldn’t have the best care your
staff could give. This was top priority for me. Secondly, your staff,
with all their genuine graciousness, friendly nature, and talent,
they were a pleasure to meet with the first hello in the morning
before our breakfast feast to the time they said goodnight. Every
day, we talked to young adults from the time we arrived until the
time we left. We spoke together of history, art, Ontario’s
gorgeous Georgian Bay landscape to what plans they have for their
future.
My parents relaxed while helping me take care of the girls. We
enjoyed your fun filled nights especially the duo from Toronto “Spin
Cycle”, I think they were called, which for me was Delawana’s
version of the pairing of Jim Carrey with Lily Tomlin. I don’t
think I will ever forget the image of the female part of the act,
sorry I can’t remember her name, on top of stilts which looked
like she was riding some sort of cross between a purple camel and
an ostrich. She made my Mother laugh so hard, my Mom went up and
thanked her for such a good time, not remembering when she had had
such a good laugh. My parents took in other acts and entertainment
as I went to put my littlest to bed. But I didn’t feel I lost
anything. In fact we gained some wonderful knowledge as my Mom and
I took our first wine tasting experience and listened to the mature
philosophies and mannerisms of the man who gave the seminar. Your
staff must share this same experience when they learn, develop,
and spend time with such an encouraging teacher and manager like
Kirk Weiss.
All in all, we’ll be like some of your other guests and become
second time visitors when we book for 2007.
